WTC Final 2023: Jaydev Unadkat – Team India and fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Jaydev Unadkat is likely to be fit in time for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia. The pacer suffered a shoulder injury and is ruled out of the remainder of the IPL season. According to reports, Unadkat traveled to Mumbai for scans and visited one of the specialist consultants appointed by BCCI. After discussing with BCCI’s medical staff, LSG decided to withdraw the Saurashtra Captain from the remainder of IPL. For the uninitiated, The LSG pacer was about to ball his first in Lucknow nets on Sunday before his left foot got struck on the ropes triggering a nasty fall on his left elbow. Unadkat was seen in severe pain with an arm in a sling and ice pack on his shoulder. With more than one month to go for WTC Final, BCCI is optimistic that the pacer will gain full fitness for the mega clash against Australia starting in Oval on June 7.

WTC 2023: Unadkat, one of the five pacers named by BCCI in the WTC squad, suspense on KL Rahul remains
With conditions in England favoring pace bowling, BCCI have named five fast bowlers for the WTC final. Along with Siraj, Shami, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav, Unadkat is another option Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid have at their disposal for the summit clash against Australia. Unadkat offers left-arm angle among the pacers and is in good form in the longest format of the game. The Saurashtra skipper last played a Test in Bangladesh and was also part of the squad for the Test series against Australia.
Meanwhile, there is no official word yet on LSG skipper Rahul’s fitness after he suffered a hamstring injury in the match against RCB. LSG stated that Rahul has gone for scans, and the seriousness of his injury will be known in the reports. As of now, Rahul is ruled out of the clash against CSK.
