WTC Final 2023: Injuries have become an everyday occurrence in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Lucknow Super Giants pacer Jaydev Unadkat has made his way into the list. The left-arm seamer picked up a shoulder injury during a practice session. This comes as a big blow to the Indian team ahead of the World Test Championships Final. Jaydev Unadkat is playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing IPL. During the team’s practice session on the eve of their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday, the left arm pacer suffered a left shoulder injuiry. While bowling at the nets, the 31-year-old slipped in his follow through and fell awkwardly. In the process he landed on his left shoulder and was seen grimacing in pain.
While the status of the injury is not yet known, it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to take the flight to England ahead of the World Test Championships. With the match all set to be held in England, Unadkat was looked upon as an option to be included in the playing XI, especially with his left arm seam giving a variety to India’s pace attack.

The LSG skipper on Monday injured his hamstring and had to walk off the field. With Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer already ruled out the growing list of injuries is a big cause for concern.
Unadkat made his Test debut in 2010. It took him 12 long years to play in his second Test match as he made his return to the side during the series against Bangladesh in December 2022. He played a solitary Test match in the series at Mirpur. He was then part of the Indian squad during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He however didn’t get a chance in the playing XI in the five-match series.
The World Test Championships is scheduled to begin on 7th June 2023. The match will be played at th Kennington Oval in London.
