All’s well that ends well! Punjab Kings (PBKS) unwanted IPL 2024 auction pick, Shashank Singh, has worked wonders for them in the RCB vs PBKS match. The 32-year-old player was picked by the franchise for Rs 20 lakh, but just moments later, after sealing the deal, PBKS released the blunder they had made.
That same unwanted pick smashed an 8-ball 21 in a high-octane clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Coming in to bat after the Punjab Kings had lost half of their side, Shashank scored 21 of the 26 runs the team would go on to score. He propelled the score past the 170-run mark and ensured that PBKS still had a shot to win the match on the high-scoring ground.
PBKS picks wrong Shashank Singh
The Punjab Kings made the enforced error by picking 32-year-old Shashank Singh instead of the 19-year-old batter they originally wanted. Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia, and Sanjay Bangar at first seemed to be celebrating but soon realized their blunder. They tried to reverse the decision but couldn’t do so.
When fans online got to know about the monumental mistake they had made, they ripped the franchise into pieces online. However, a day later, PBKS came out with the statement that, while there was some confusion, they had picked the ‘right’ player.
Today, March 25, nothing seems more correct. Indeed, the franchise made the right call by picking the talented 32-year-old Shashank Singh.
