Ravindra Jadeja has apologized to teammate Sarfaraz Khan after the end of the first day’s play in the India vs England 3rd Test. Jadeja, who scored his fourth century on the opening day in Rajkot, had gotten the debutant out while trying to look for a quick single.
However, after Sarfaraz himself snubbed the thought of any ‘hard feelings’ towards Jadeja. After the end of day’s play, the centurion apologized to the debutant for making a mistake. Jadeja took to Instagram and wrote, Feeling bad for @sarfarazkhan97; it was my wrong call. Well played.”
Stuck on 99, Jadeja called Sarfaraz Khan for a quick single. The debutant ran immediately but was sent back by the all-rounder. The mix-up saw the debutant get run out after getting his maiden half-century. The debutant, his father, and even skipper Rohit Sharma expressed frustration over his dismissal.
Sarfaraz, who had come out to bat after skipper Rohit was dismissed for 131, was batting like a dream. From the moment he stepped into the middle, he left everyone in awe with his confidence and stroke play. Having already reached 62 in just 69 balls, the debutant looked set for a big one.
But luck wasn’t on Sarfaraz’s side. Having previously run a quick single to ensure Jadeja got to his ton, the debutant set off on the all-rounder call. However, he was sent back, and he saw the middle stump pegged back by Mark Wood’s direct hit.
Despite not reaching his maiden century, the debutant has impressed fans, experts, and the Indian management alike and can be expected to soon be a permanent spot holder in Test cricket for India.
