As per an Indian Express report, Wriddhiman Saha seeks an apology from a CAB official who questioned his commitment following his withdrawal from the squad during the league stage. Saha has been named in the squad for the Ranji Trophy knockouts but is adamant not to turn up for the side and an apology could help change his mind as per reports.
CAB president Avishek Dalmiya has reportedly asked Saha to reconsider his decision on Tuesday, and the duo also spoke over the phone. A top CAB official believes that Saha is trying to arm-twist the association and has asked him to ‘not be stubborn’.
He told Indian Express, “When the president himself is telling him that the CAB has disowned the comment made by an individual, then Saha shouldn’t be that stubborn. Nobody is bigger than the association.”

The veteran keeper has now sought a NOC from the CAB, to be allowed to feature for another state from next season. The 37-year-old, who is part of the Gujarat Titans, will come to Kolkata next week for the IPL playoffs, but a meeting between him and the CAB top brass is expected only after the end of the tournament.
CAB joint-secretary Debabrata Das criticised Saha’s decision and publicly questioned his commitment. The player cited the illness of a family member for his unavailability. Dalmiya has distanced himself from Das’ comments and is keen to have Saha as part of the set-up.
