The incident happened in the 5th over of the Mumbai Indians innings. A delivery from UP Warriors spinner Sophie Ecclestone ended up as a Yorker. Matthews tried to hit it but the ball deflected off the boot before hitting the bat. Warriorz decided to take the review with the ball tracker showing the ball hitting the middle stump.
While Matthews looked surprised by the decision the dismissal was the reviewed again following which the decision was overturned. Matthews innings was eventually ended by Ecclestone for 12 runs however the West Indian along with her opening Yastika Bhatia had put on 58 for the opening wicket.

Richa Ghosh DRS controversy
The first instance of DRS blunder took place during Mumbai Indians vs RCB match just couple of days back. The player in middle of controversy was RCB and India wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh. The umpire had given not out despite the ball taking a huge deflection of her glove. On review, the ultra-edge showed no spike with the umpire staying with the original decision. Richa survived the call much to the shock of Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
