Ashwin hopes that the landscape of Women’s cricket will change with the WPL 2023. “Over the last few years we have also seen the Women’s T20 Challenge go really well. Now that the TV rights and the franchisees have been sold at a really high cost, I can only hope that the lanscape of the women’s cricket will change forever. I am looking forward to the tournament more than ever.”

Dinesh Karthik who was part of the commentary team during the Women’s 100 in England recently, stated, “In the last five years, Women’s cricket generally overall around the globe has really picked up. Luckily I was part of another tournament in England, where I could see the kind of interest that young girls had while coming into watch the matches to see their heroes play. Now that will happen in India.”

“You want the young girls to have a look at their heroes. To see what they do on a daily basis and that is something I am looking forward to,” he added.
