WPL Auction 2024: Re-shuffling continues as UP Warriorz retain Healy and Deepti

The WPL 2024 Auction will be held in December 2023.

Following the Mumbai Indians suit, UP Warriorz has retained 13 players, while letting go of 5 players ahead of the WPL 2024 auctions in December later this year.

Warriorz ended the inaugural edition of the WPL (Women’s Premier League) third under Alyssa Healy’s leadership. Now, with eyes on the title, they have released 5 players in their bid for ultimate glory.

They have retained players like skipper Alyssa Healy, Deepti Sharma, Tahlia Mcgrath, and Sophie Ecclestone among others while letting go of South African ace pacer Shabnim Ismail.

Reflecting on the decision, coach Jon Lewis said, “At UP Warriorz, we are really excited about retaining the core of our team that got us to the playoffs of the WPL last year. In all team sport turnover of personnel is imperative. We value the contributions and efforts of all our players and wish them all the best for the forthcoming seasons. It will be a tougher challenge in WPL 2024 and we are all looking forward to taking up that challenge.”
