The deadline for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) franchises to submit the list of retentions has been extended. As per Cricbuzz, the BCCI has informed the teams that the last date to submit their retentions will now be November 7. The WPL sides were to make their choices public by October 15 initially before the board decided to give an extension.
WPL 2025 retention deadline extended
The report states that a mini-auction will be held following the submission of the retention lists by the teams. The venue for the auction is however yet to be decided. The auction purse has been boosted by Rs 1.5 cr and currently stands at Rs 15 cr. The tournament is scheduled to be held in the February-March window, with the franchises reportedly favouring that period as the senior women’s domestic tournaments will end halfway through January.
