Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Kanika Ahuja might be out of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024, but she is not far off from the action. After being ruled out of WPL 2024 due to an injury, Kanika met up with her RCB teammates and the camaraderie was there for all to see. RCB posted the heartwarming video on their social media channel.
A few days before the start of WPL season 2, RCB announced that Kanika will not be able to take part in the tournament owing to an injury. Kanika had been a vital cog for RCB in WPL’s inaugural season. The all-rounder had played 7 out of 8 matches for RCB in WPL 2023. She scored 98 runs and picked up 2 wickets in that edition. RCB swiftly moved to address the setback by announcing Shradda Pokharkar as Ahuja’s replacement.
However, the all-rounder on Monday met up with her RCB teammates. Ahuja will be undergoing rehab in a bid to recover from her injury as soon as possible. Her RCB teammates were delighted to see her, as was evident from the video RCB shared on their social media channel X (previously Twitter).
The video came with a heartwarming caption that read, “Out but not out! Kanika Ahuja’s injury might have kept her out of #WPL2024, but she’s not far from the RCB set up! She’s here with us cheering for her besties while undergoing her rehab. Wishing Kanika a speedy recovery and as promised, we are with our players in thick and thin!”
