WPL 2024: The second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024) is scheduled from February 23 to March 17. The women’s T20 cricket tournament will be played in Bengaluru and Delhi, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced recently. In this article, we will take a look at the top 5 players to watch out for in the upcoming Women’s Premier League.

Smriti Mandhana (RCB)

Skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Smriti Mandhana is expected to play a very important role in her side’s success in the upcoming WPL 2024. To note, Smriti Mandhana and Co. were knocked out after the group stage matches of the WPL 2023 due to their poor performance. The Red Army will look to have a good outing in WPL 2024.

Harmanpreet Kaur (MI)

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was impressive for the Mumbai team in the WPL last year. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 281 runs in last year’s edition as her side went on to clinch the WPL trophy. It remains to be seen if Harman can replicate her heroics in WPL 2024 or not.

Meg Lanning (DC)

Leading run-scorer of WPL 2023 and the skipper Delhi Capitals, Meg Lanning will have a huge role to play for her side. The former Australian skipper has been a proven performer in the international arena as well. In WPL 2023, Lanning scored 345 runs in just nine matches.

Sophie Ecclestone (UPW)

Veteran spinner Sophie Ecclestone scalped 16 wickets in the last edition of the WPL. She finished as the joint leading wicket-taker in the last edition. Ecclestone is a smart customer and does not let the batters to dictate terms. She is expected to play a crucial role for UP Warriorz in the upcoming edition.
