WPL 2024 Auction: Overseas players who might get highest bid

61 overseas players have registered for the WPL 2024 Auction.

Just two days have left for the women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 Auction and all eyes are eagerly waiting that to know who will be the highest pick in the WPL 2024 Auction. After the successful inaugural edition of WPL, 61 overseas players have registered this time for the Auction. Let us have a look at five players who could get the highest bid in WPL Auction.

Danni Wyatt 

Danni Wyaat had gone unsold last season. This time she could get a high bid after she produced some blistering knocks in Women’s Hundred. He scored 265 runs at a strike rate of 141.14. Wyatt has an impeccable record in India, scoring 459 runs in 16 games.

Annabel Sutherland

Gujarat Giants released Annabel Sutherland after she failed to impress in the inaugural season of WPL 2023. She had scored only 28 runs and picked three wickets at an economy of 10.99. However, She has been in great form in International cricket. She had delivered a heroic performance in the T20I match against England at Oval to provide victory to the team.

Chamari Athapaththu 

The Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu was the star player for the team this year. She was also awarded ‘Player of the Month’ by ICC in September. She was outstanding in the 2023 WBBL, Playing for Sydney Thunder.

Amanda-Jade Wellington 

Amanda was the third-highest wicket-taker in WBBL 2023. She had not registered for the WPL 2023. But, this time, Amanda will feature in the WPL 2024 auction. The Australian bowler has taken 23 wickets in WBBL 2023. Amanda had delivered the last over of the final for Adelaide Strikers to win the WBBL title.

Shabnim Ismail 

At the last auction, Ismail was purchased by UP Warriorz for INR 1 crore. She played just three matches and now UP has released her. The South African pacer showcased her skills in the Women’s Hundred, WCPL, and WBBL to put a strong case in the WPL 2024 Auction. Ismail has retired from International cricket early this year.
