Gujarat Giants underwent a complete revamping of their squad in WPL 2024 Auction following their last-place finish in the five-team tournament last season. With just two wins out of eight games, the team finished their auction well having spent the highest on Kashvee Gautam.
Having released more than half of their squad members, including four overseas players – Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, Kim Garth, and Sophia Dunkley, Gujarat Giants are poised for a strategic approach in the WPL 2024 auction. Despite their challenging performance last season, the team has a substantial budget for the auction, providing them with the opportunity to make impactful bids.
Among the retained players are Beth Mooney, who faced an injury last season, and her replacement Laura Wolvaardt. With the largest purse of Rs 5.95 crore among the five teams, Gujarat Giants aim to fill up 10 vacant slots including three overseas.
