WPL 2024: Alice Capsey slams lights up Chinnaswamy with blazing fifty in MI vs DC

Delhi Capitals' Alice Capsey slammed her maiden WPL fifty in 36 balls in the opening WPL 2024 game against Mumbai Indians.

Delhi Capitals’ Alice Capsey lit up the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with a blazing fifty in the opening Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 clash against Mumbai Indians.

Capsey came to the crease early after the dismissal of Shafali Varma and went on counter-attacking mode from ball one.

The 20-year-old all rounder slammed her maiden WPL fifty in 36 balls. Capsey scored 75 off 53 balls before getting trapped LBW. Her quickfire knock included 8 fours and 3 sixes.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to bowl first. The WPL 2024 started with a electrifying opening ceremony that saw Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan entertaining the crowd with stellar performances.
