On the other hand, Sourav Ganguly has revealed that Jhulan Goswami has been offered a coaching role. Delhi Capitals who are on the hunt for coaches have sought Goswami as the bowling coach for the team. However, Goswami has denied receiving any such offers from Delhi Capitals. “No, I don’t know about any such offers. I haven’t heard of it and I have not received any such offers,” said Jhulan Goswami exclusively to InsideSport.
”We have offered the bowling coach role to Jhulan and we are sure that she will accept the offer,” Sourav Ganguly, the director of cricket at Delhi Capitals, told Sportstar.
This comes as a bit of shocking news that the veteran Indian speedster won’t play in the inaugural WPL. Prior to the Auction of the Media rights, various reports emerged that the legends including the likes of Goswami and Mithali Raj would come out of their retirement to take a part in the competition.
Delhi Capitals have had their eyes on Goswami for a long time. Since last year, the Capitals have kept Goswmai under the radar to pick her up as the bowling coach for the upcoming IPL 2023 season.

As for the Delhi Capitals, the IPL side is keen to appoint WV Raman as their head coach. Jhulan Goswami will join the staff as the bowling coach of the team. Delhi Capitals are also one of the 5 franchises that have successfully won the team bidding rights for the WPL. DC believes that the dual appointment of Goswami and Raman will be a vital boost for the team.
Goswami who bid goodbye to her long cricket career after almost 2 decades now currently serves as a mentor to the Bengal cricket team.
“WV did a great job with the Indian team and that’s why we have offered him the head coach role job,” Ganguly added.
