WPL 2023 Captains: RCB & UP Warriorz teams announce captains, Gujarat Giants NAME Beth Mooney as Skipper, MI name Harmanpreet Kaur & DC likely to name Meg Lanning as captain: Follow LIVE Updates
Smriti Mandhana will lead RCB in the inaugural edition of WPL. The franchise were the first one to announce the captain. Alyssa Healy will lead Warriorz, with Deepti Sharma being the vice-captain. While MI have not announced officially Harmanpreet Kaur as the leader, the India skipper is likely to lead the side.

1. Smriti Mandhana RCB
Mandhana will be leading RCB for the first-ever edition of WPL. The WPL’s most expensive player has captaincy experience in leading Maharashtra. The southpaw is also the vice-captain of the Indian team. RCB have a strong team with Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Heather Knight, and Renuka Thakur in the mix.
2. Alyssa Healy UP Warriorz
Australia wicketkeeper batter Alyssa Healy will be leading Warriorz. The right-hand batter pipped Deepti Sharma in the captaincy race owing to the vast amount of experience playing for Australia and also leading New South Wales. Healy has also chipped as the leader when Meg Lanning was on an indefinite break.
3. Harmanpreet Kaur MI
India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is set to lead Mumbai Indians. Kaur has a proven track record as captain by leading India in 96 T20Is. Nat Sciver is likely to be deputy for Kaur.

4. Meg Lanning DC
Australia skipper Meg Lanning will lead Delhi Capitals in WPL 2023 season. The 29-year-old created history on February 26 by winning five ICC titles. Lanning is a gun leader and has experience of leading Australia for nine years.
5. Beth Mooney
The Gujarat Giants have two options for leaders in Sneh Rana and Ash Gardner. However, in a surprise move, the GG have named Beth Mooney as the captain of the side. Sneh Rana will be the southpaw’s deputy.
