‘Worst Captain Ever’- Fans blast Hardik Pandya after India lose T20I series to West Indies

Indian cricket fans slammed skipper T20I skipper Hardik Pandya after India lost T20I series 3-2 to West Indies

India encountered a defeat at the hands of West Indies for the first time in a 5-match T20I series. With a 3-2 win the Caribbean side pick up their first series win since 2016 in a bilateral series. But it was the Indian fans who vented out their anger on social media after the Men in Blue were ousted by West Indies in the 5th T20I game. Skipper Hardik Pandya was blasted by the fans for his poor captaincy choices.

West Indies took a comfortable lead by 2-0 before the Men in Blue came back strongly to level the tie with all to play for in the final game of the series. India set a target of 165 to chase which the hosts did convincingly with 8 wickets to spare. What has more infuriated the fans is that the T20 World Cup is next year and a young Men in Blue seems relatively unprepared for the same.

Fans have gone on to blast Pandya for his poor batting strike rate and rather poor captaincy choices which have led India to lose their 11-series win streak. And with the Asia Cup and ICC World Cup knocking on the door, a series loss to West Indies who failed to qualify for this year’s World Cup will surely shatter India’s skyrocketing confidence.
