World Cup jinx set to end? Team India prepare to break 13 year old World Cup jinx

T20 World Cup: Last chance for India to break ICC trophy jinx, Men in Blue ready to win another world cup trophy after 2011.

The India Cricket Team has a good chance of final breaking their World Cup jinx. It has been 13 years since last India won a World Cup, 11 years since last the team won a ICC Trophy. Yet again, Rohit Sharma and Co are now a step closer in winning an ICC silverware. The Men in Blue thumped defending champions England to set date with South Africa in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Interestingly, this is a great opportunity for the Men in Blue to end their World Cup jinx. Everyone remembers clearly “… and Dhoni finishes off in style”. But 13 long years have passed since India last lifted the World Cup. They came close last year, but was eventually made to eat a humble pie by the Australians in the finals.

Will the Jinx break?

Back in 2011, MS Dhoni and Co went on to defeat the defending champions Sri Lanka in the finals. And this time, Rohit Sharma and Co has already defeated defending champions England. Just a win remains as India will take on South Africa in the finals of the mega tournament. Both sides have been unbeaten so far in the tournament and the odds are now heavily tipped in favor of Team India.

It has been a long span of 17 years, since India won the T20 World Cup, 13 years since a World Cup win, and 11 years since an ICC Trophy win. A decade has passed since India last appeared in a T20 World Cup final. Furthermore, within a span of 1.5 years, India has appeared in 3 ICC finals, and the Men in Blue have a golden chance of breaking the jinx.
