World Cup 2023 Preps in FULL Might, BCCI forms 2 sub-committees to ENSURE smooth tournament

The BCCI has decided to form 2 Sub-committees to ensure the smooth execution of the ICC World Cup 2023 Tournament

As India continues its preparation for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, the top brass aka the BCCI also been busy. The apex cricketing body of the country has formed two sub-committees to oversee the work and the planning of the upcoming mega event. These two sub-committees are 1) Working Group of 5 office bearers, 2) ‘Infrastructure and Subsidy Committee’ that will overlook the conduction of the tournament.

Each of the office bearers of the BCCI will oversee 2-3 venues where the ICC World Cup will be held. The President, Roger Binny will look over Chennai and Ahmedabad, while Secretary Jay Shah will oversee Delhi and Dharamsala. Vice President Rajeev Shukla will have a look at Hyderabad and Bangalore while Treasurer Ashish Shelar will watch over Pune, Lucknow, and Guwahati. And lastly, Devajit Saikia will oversee Kolkata, Trivandrum, and Mumbai.

The other sub-committee, i.e the ‘Infrastructure and Subsidy Committee’ comprises of Anirudh Chaudhury, Prabhtej Bhatua, A Shankar and Arun Dhumal.

Jay Shah wrote to the various State Associations stating, “As per the discussions held during the Special General Meeting (SGM) on May 27 in Ahmedabad, it was resolved that the office-bearers would form two sub-committees for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. I am pleased to inform you that the office-bearers of the BCCI have convened and finalized the composition of the two sub-committees.”

The 10 nations taking part in the ICC World Cup 2023 will meet in Delhi on 27th July. This will be the 2nd meeting of the nations as the previous one was held a month earlier on 26th June, a day prior to the launch of the World Cup Schedule.

Jay Shah further wrote to the State associations, “It was great meeting you in Mumbai recently to discuss various issues concerning the ICC World Cup 2023 to be held in India this year. I feel it will be in the interest of all concerned that we meet again to exchange notes and take stock of any issue which needs discussion and decision. Accordingly, you are hereby requested to attend a meeting of the World Cup staging associations on July 27 at 3pm in Delhi.”
