Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid’s insistence to continue with Suryakumar Yadav did not pay off again. Despite his struggles in recent times, SKY found a place in the playing XI in the IND vs WI 2nd ODI. The move did not pay dividends, with the 32-year-old recording yet another low score.

Batting on a difficult wicket, Suryakumar Yadav was part of India’s collapse after Ishan-Gill put on a 90-run stand. Rahul Dravid opted to rest Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to afford opportunities to the fringe players. In fact, India opted to shuffle their batting order to afford Surya a chance at No.6 to give him role clarity. However, for yet another game, India were only met with disappointment.
