At the BCCI’s Special General Meeting (SGM), which will be held on May 27, the fate of the crucial India vs Pakistan encounter in World Cup 2023 and Asia Cup 2023 are expected to be the primary discussion points.
The conference will take place in Ahmedabad on May 27, the day before the big IPL 2023 final.
On May 27, the ODI World Cup schedule and Asia Cup venue are also anticipated to be known.
The ODI World Cup is expected to begin on October 5 and end on November 19, according to reports. For the main event, BCCI had chosen 12 locations, with Ahmedabad serving as host to both the tournament’s opener and finale.
Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB, is hesitant to hold the match in Ahmedabad, though. Pakistan has also said that they will only participate in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium and not in any other contests.
Due to its over 1 lakh capacity attendance, BCCI is interested to hold the IND vs PAK match in Ahmedabad.
During SGM, the location of the much-awaited clash will also be addressed.
The outcome of the Asia Cup 2023 saga will also be determined at this meeting with India already making it clear that they would not visit Pakistan. Concerning the hybrid concept, BCCI and PCB are at odds as well.
