20 cricketers make the cut for World Cup 2023
If team India coach Rahul Dravid decides to go ahead with experience pair then Shikhar Dhawan, skipper Rohit Shara and Virat Kohli will be the formidable top three. The likes of Ishan Kishan, Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill are also likely to be monitored for the opening slot. Coming to the middle order the men in blue would prefer a tested batter rather than repeating the mistake they did in 2019. There will be a lot of fight for the middle order but the likes of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant are likely to make the cut.

Suryakumar Yadav will also be in contention following his exploits in the T20I format in 20222. The other players who will be challenging for the middle order would be Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson. Coming to all-rounders apart from Hardik, India will have the service of veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja depending on fitness.
Axar Patel has also done well in the opportunities presented to him in absence of Jadeja. Should he continue to do well, the selectors will have a huge call to make. Besides the above mentioned names, the likes of Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar will be pushing for a place with their performance.

The selectors might also look to add spinner who could pick wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav would be certainly in the mix. With bowling allrounders already in the team, their selection and place in the playing XI will be decided on the composition. Coming to the pace bowling department Jasprit Bumrah is a certainty as he is currently trying to get fit in time.
Arshdeep Singh has been excellent and will be hard to ignore during the selection. If India goes with swing bowling option, they would have to make choice between Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Deepak Chahar. Mohammed Shami and Mohammad Siraj are never too far from making the final cut.

BCCI issues guidelines for workload management of players
Following the meeting, BCCI issues a statement revealing plans for injury and workload management. To stop players from getting injured more often, BCCI has asked the NCA to work with IPL teams on workload management. Apart from the Yo-Yo test, BCCI has made Dexa test mandatory. The test is mandatory for any player to return to Team India following an injury layoff.
The rules have also been laid for young players who dream of playing for India. The young players will need to play a substantial amount of domestic games to be eligible for India selection. The question now remains is how effective will be this new rule.
