Get ready, cricket fans! The blueprint for the highly anticipated New York stadium, set to host the blockbuster India vs Pakistan (IND vs PAK) clash in the T20 World Cup this June, will get unveiled today. While, construction of Nassau County International Stadium begins this week, ushering in a new era for cricket in the USA.

This 34,000-seater temporary marvel, nestled in Long Island, surpasses England’s biggest grounds and even rivals the legendary Wankhede Stadium. Built like a modern modular masterpiece, New York Stadium borrows its fancy seats from none other than the Las Vegas Grand Prix! Prepare for a cricket experience like no other.

“Forget makeshift,” declares an insider to Cricbuzz, “This will be one of the world’s most modern cricket stadiums, packed with everything you could imagine.”

New York Stadium hosting 3 T20 WC matches

New York Stadium has got three matches featuring Indian cricket heroes: against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA. But Dallas, despite hosting the tournament opener between USA and Canada, misses out on an India game. What gives?

Logistics hold the key. Dallas’ smaller 7,500-person stadium, time zone differences, and limited direct flights to the Caribbean, the other host nation, made it a tricky choice. “Star Sports, our key broadcaster, needs to consider time zones too,” explains an organizer. “Why limit fans when we can host India in a bigger New York venue?”

Still, Dallas gets to kick off the entire event with the electrifying USA-Canada opener, followed by three more matches. New York Stadium takes center stage with eight games, while Florida joins the party with four, including one with India.

“This is a watershed moment for cricket in the USA,” beams Vijay Srinivasan, co-founder of Major League Cricket. “From the historic USA-Canada opener to welcoming fans from cricket powerhouses like Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, it’s going to be a summer to remember!”

So, mark your calendars, cricket fans! This June, the USA transforms into a cricketing hotbed, with New York’s gleaming new stadium at the heart of it all. Get ready for nail-biting matches, star power, and a taste of cricket like never before in America. The countdown is on!
