Rishabh Pant shocked the cricketing fans of the country by posting a very cryptic tweet. The Indian wicketkeeper took to social media to ask the fans whether he would be sold if the player went to auction. Currently, Rishabh Pant is the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025).
Rishabh Pant further questioned that he if goes to auction then for how much amount will he go in the auction. Though this is a cryptic tweet, this would surely keep Delhi Capitals (DC) in a spot of both. Retaining the ace southpaw would be one of the key agendas of the team heading into the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
Will Delhi Capitals retain Rishabh Pant?
It is without a shred of doubt that Rishabh Pant is one of the key players for Delhi Capitals. And heading into the IPL Mega Auction, the Delhi outfits will be desperate to retain their superstar. Not just their captain, Pant is also among the superstars in the team. Pant would be DC’s first retention pick and is likely to be retained for a sum of Rs. 18 crore.
Should Pant be released in the auction, the southpaw will become a key target for each and every team who will be desperate to sign the superstar to bolster their squad. Last season in IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant made a comeback to IPL after missing the previous season after his near-death accident.
Now Pant has been successfully incorporated into the India Cricket Team setup. After clinching the T20 World Cup, Pant also made a comeback to red-ball cricket in the recently concluded IND vs BAN Test series. Currently, on a break, Pant will be back in action soon when India hosts New Zealand for a three-match Test series.
