Wonder Woman! Ellyse Perry has bagged a six-fer in the WPL. The first women in the history of the Women’s Premier League to claim such a record. Perry bagged 6 wickets against Mumbai Indians in RCB’s must win game in the WPL. Perry’s heroics helped the Bangalore outfits reach the WPL playoffs for the first time.
Royal Challengers Bangalore needed something special to make it to the playoffs. And Wonder Woman Ellyse Perry produced just that. In her stipulated 4 overs, she gave away just 16 runs and managed to bag 6 dismissals.
Perry was introduced late into the bowling attack. She went wicketless in her first 9 deliveries. However, she turned the tide to scalp 6 wickets in the next 15 deliveries. With 4 bowled and 2 lbws, Perry scripted the best bowling show in the history of the WPL.
“Nice to come out and play a great game with the girls, just really enjoyable. I really enjoyed bowling and did some work with coaches back home in the last 3 years. I just managed to find a good length and it did a little bit off the wicket,” Perry said after the game.
“The games come thick and fast and I loved that partnership with Richa Ghosh and it was great to spend some time out there in the middle. We are getting used to conditions in Delhi and looking forward to play some good cricket here,” Perry concluded.
