Even though Katie McCabe scored a fantastic goal right out of the corner to start the game, Canada came back to win thanks to an own goal by Megan Connolly and a goal by Adriana Leon in the second half.

Conor McGregor Can’t Stop Expressing Excitement For Katie McCabe Despite Loss In  The Women’s World Cup

Ireland captain Katie McCabe scored Ireland’s first-ever World Cup goal with a corner kick that curled into the air and into the net in the fourth minute of an exciting first half that featured offensive play at both ends.

At Perth Oval, Canada secured its first victory of the Women’s World Cup on Wednesday, defeating Ireland 2-1 thanks to a precise toe-poke by forward Adriana Leon and a little bit of luck.

Though Ireland lost the match Conor couldn’t stop himself from expressing his excitement and appreciating the women players, especially the Ireland captain Katie McCabe.

Conor posted a tweet stating “Iconic moment in Irish football just now ! The ladies running the show! Scored from the corner WOW! Captain McCabe!”

He also retweeted a tweet made by Ireland Football, which had been appreciating Ireland’s football team, captain Katie McCabe. He appreciated the player as he wrote, “What a player”.

Conor just dint stop there, there was another tweet where he applauded all the women in Ireland’s women’s football team. Towards the players who had been playing for the women’s football world Cup.

He wrote “ Ireland, ladies, you were magnificent today! Head Up and Keep Building! Because I tell you one thing, this is happening in our lifetime! McCabe, you are a machine! Some great lessons learned here. Take them and go forward! It’s only starting. It’s not even 10mins into this game.”

Ireland is now at the bottom of Group B after losing to the co-hosts Australia on the first day of the tournament. When they play Nigeria in their last group matchup the following week, they will not be able to advance to the round of 16.
