After a stellar victory in the inaugural season of the ACC Women’s U19 Asia Cup under the leadership of Niki Prasad, she is now set to lead the team in the Women’s U19 World Cup, scheduled to take place from January 18 to February 2 in Malaysia. India has announced a 15-member squad for the tournament.
The squad includes 14 players from the triumphant Asia Cup team, with Sanika Chalka taking on the role of vice-captain. The sole change is the addition of pacer Vaishnavi S, who replaces Nandhana S. Nandhana has been placed on the standby list along with Ira J and Anadi T.

Women’s U19 T20 World Cup
There will be four groups of 16 teams competing in the U19 T20 World Cup 2025. Group A includes India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.
India will play its group stage matches at Kuala Lumpur’s Bayuemas Oval. Their campaign against the West Indies starts on January 19.
India’s clinched Women’s U19 Asia Cup
The India Women’s Under-19 team won the inaugural Women’s U19 Asia Cup, defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs on December 22. Gongadi Trisha’s 52 helped India post 117/7, while bowlers Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Sonam Yadav dismissed Bangladesh for 75, securing a historic victory in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
