Women’s T20 World Cup Semifinal Qualification Race: 6 teams fighting for 3 remaining spots

Pakistan vs New Zealand on October 14 and England vs West Indies on October 15 will decide the fate of six teams and their semifinal qualification chances.

Just 2 group stages are left in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, and six teams are still in contention to qualify for the semifinals. Unfortunately, only three of these sides can go through. In Group A, just one spot remains. Australia have won all four of their matches; Sri Lanka is eliminated with zero wins, while India, New Zealand and Pakistan are all fighting to make the knockout stage. In Group B, two teams (Bangladesh and Scotland) have been knocked out. But no team has yet qualified. With one match left, two of England, West Indies and South Africa will move to the next stage of the tournament.

Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 – Points Table

Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Semifinal qualification scenario in Group A

India: The Pakistan vs New Zealand match doesn’t end with no result; New Zealand doesn’t win, and Pakistan wins by less than 47 runs or with less than 55 balls to spare.

New Zealand: Win the match against Pakistan or the game ends with no result

Pakistan: Beat New Zealand by 47-60 runs if they bat first or chase the target within 10.4 overs.

There is just one scenario in which Team India can qualify for the semifinals. That is, if Pakistan beats New Zealand by less than 47 runs if they bat first or if they chase the total in more than 10.4 overs. If New Zealand wins or the match ends as a ‘no result’, India will be knocked out of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Semifinal qualification scenario in Group B

England: Beat the West Indies or the match ends with no result or lose the match in a close finish

South Africa: If West Indies lose or if West Indies win in a low-scoring match

West Indies: Win the match
