The Women’s T20 World Cup is upon us, and one of the pressing questions is, how would the teams fare after the change of venue from Bangladesh to the UAE. For long, teams had been preparing for the former, and now with the change of the venue, this changes a lot of things for all sides, including Harmanpreet Kaur’s Indian cricket team.
In fact, coach Amol Muzumdar also made it clear that India had started preparations for Bangladesh, as early as May, but now the conditions could be slightly different. However, he maintained, they won’t be very different from conditions in India. Speaking at the press conference, Muzumdar said, “It came as a surprise to every one of us.
“We had specifically gone to Bangladesh in the month of May and played 5 T20Is over there, just to get used to the conditions. But things have changed and it has shifted to Dubai.
“I think conditions would be similar to what we have over here in India but just at the start of the season, what my experience is in the IPL (2020) – there might be a little bit of bounce in initial matches but overhead conditions remain the same, just as India,” he added.
