With IPL 2024 in mind, Suryakumar Yadav begins his comeback from ankle injury

Surya was the Mumbai Indians highest run scorer last year, and with a change in captaincy, the franchise will turn to him for consistency with the bat.

The No. 1 T20I batter in the world, Suryakumar Yadav, has started his rehabilitation with the IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup 2024 in mind. The 360-degree batter had suffered an ankle injury in December last year that had potentially ruled him out for around 2-3 months.

Following his injury, Surya missed three ODIs against South Africa in December and 3 T20Is against Afghanistan in January. Not only that, but with the Indian Premier League 2024 edition scheduled to start in mid-March, questions over his missing the league had also emerged.

However, with Suryakumar Yadav giving a valuable update with over a month still left before the start of the league, it bodes well for the Mumbai Indians (MI) and their chances of lifting a record-breaking sixth title.

With multiple changes made during the IPL 2024 auction, including a captaincy change and Cameron Green going to Royal Challengers Bangalore, the franchise will need Surya, their best batter last season, to continue his great run with the bat for MI.
