Wimbledon 2022: India Tour of England: Former India coach Ravi Shastri, currently in England as a commentator for India series, has been bowled over Rafael Nadal. Shastri snaps the GOAT –

Ravi Shastri took to his Twitter account to share pictures of Rafael Nadal while he was involved in an exhibition match against Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Shastri was quick to highlight the 22 Grand Slam titles that Nadal has won and the star on the number indicated that he is good to go for a while now. Nadal has rushed off injury concerns in recent times and has done well to be part of the prestigious Wimbledon tournament where he is seeded second.

Shastri attended Wimbledon final in 2021-

  • A fan of tennis, Ravi Shastri was the Indian team’s head coach in 2021 when he attended the Wimbledon final.
  • In the epic final Novak Djokovic emerged victorious against Italian Matteo Berrettini to clinch his sixth Wimbledon crown.
  • Since his appearance in 2021 Wimbledon final a lot has changed for the former India coach as he was in the commentary box for the IPL while no longer serving as the head coach.
  • While in Australia during India’s tour, Shastri was also seen attending tennis matches at the famous Rod Laver Arena in the Australian Open.

Nadal targets 23rd Grand Slam title-

On the horizon, Rafael Nadal will be looking for his 23rd Grand Slam title. Nadal recently won his 22nd Grand Slam title at the French Open and extended gap between him and Djokovic. Both Djokovic and Nadal are the top seeds for the upcoming tournament and will meet in the final of the Wimbledon 2022 if they win their respective matches.

If Nadal does manage to win the Wimbledon 2022 title, it will be his third at the SW-19, first in 12 years while Djokovic will try to equal Pete Sampras for seven titles at the Wimbledon Championships.
