After the wait of 128 years, Cricket will finally feature in Olympics in LA2028. All eyes will yet again be on legendary batter Virat Kohli. While currently, the former India captain is 35 and has still a few years of cricket left in him, by 2028 40. The great Sachin Tendulkar retired at 39, bowing down as a World Cup winner. Kohli is yet to win a T20 World Cup. The right-hand batter will definitely play in next year’s T20 World Cup, however, the question remains whether he will the LA2028 Olympics.
For now, Kohli is supremely fit and is playing all three formats of the game. He still has not announced his retirement from any format of the game. Also, Kohli is one of the best batters in the T20I format for India amassing over 4000 runs.
While the rest of the batters struggled to score runs in last year’s T20 World Cup, Kohli was the highest run scorer, scoring three fifties.

Cricket to make a mark in LA2028 Olympics
ICC is delighted with Cricket in the Olympics potentially returning in 2028. In a statement, ICC said, “The International Cricket Council (ICC) is delighted at the decision of the organizers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics to recommend cricket for inclusion at the Games.
After a two-year process, in which the ICC worked closely with LA28, the list of sports to be added to LA included cricket which will now be put forward for approval to the IOC.
ICC Chairman Greg Barclay said: “We are delighted that LA28 have recommended cricket for inclusion in the Olympics. Whilst this is not the final decision, it is a very significant landmark for seeing cricket at the Olympics for the first time in more than a century.
“I’d like to thank LA28 for their support during the new sport evaluation process over the last two years, and we look forward to the final decision being taken at the IOC Session, in India, during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup next week.”
