IPL 2025: Sunil Narine has been an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders for a long time. In IPL, Sunil Narine made his debut back in 2012. Since then, Narine has already been a priority for the KKR. He played a crucial role in KKR’s victories in the 2012, 2014, and 2024 IPL seasons. Speaking about his performance in IPL, Sunil Narine has played 177 matches, scoring 1,534 runs and taking 180 wickets.

Despite his all-round performance, Narine faced a setback when his bowling action was called in question. However, the veteran adapted and continued to contribute to his team.

Will Sunil Narine play after IPL 2025?

As stated above, Sunil Narine with his mystery spin and explosive batting, has been a proven performer for KKR since his debut in 2012. His performances in the last concluded edition with both bat and ball might be one of his best performances in IPL.

However, Narine’s age and the changing dynamics of T20 cricket could signal Narine’s departure. His unique style, often scrutinized for legality, might also play into this decision, as teams look towards players fitting the modern, high-intensity cricketing environment. Narine’s potential exit would leave a void in KKR’s middle order and bowling attack, a gap that would be hard to fill given his unique blend of skills.

Narine as bowling coach for KKR?

Sunil Narine has already stated that he will end his IPL career with the Men in Purple and Gold. After his retirement, Sunil Narine can possibly join the KKR coaching unit as a bowling coach. Given his experience, Narine will be an excellent addition to KKR’s coaching staff. He will join the likes of Chandrakant Pandit and his former West Indies teammate, Dwayne Bravo. However for now, Narine will be focusing on delivering another power packed performance for KKR in the upcoming IPL 2025.
