Mumbai cricket team batter Shreyas Iyer is all set to return to action in the fourth round match of Ranji Trophy. After requesting a break from the previous game, the middle-order batter will make his return in the game against Odisha which starts on Wednesday. Mumbai have only managed to win of out of their three matches so far in the current season.
Can Shreyas Iyer’s return change Mumbai’s luck in Ranji Trophy?
Shreyas Iyer had a splendid outing in the second round game against Maharashtra where he scored 142 runs. The batter has been participating in red-ball tournaments over the last couple of months as he attempts to find his way back to the Indian Test side. With 172 runs in two games, Iyer has looked in fine form in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season, barring one innings where he was dismissed for a duck.

Prior to Ranji Trophy, Shreyas Iyer was a part of Mumbai’s Irani Cup tie against Rest of India (ROI) and the Duleep Trophy. Two half-centuries in Duleep Trophy for India D and a half-century against ROI ensured that the batter was in fine touch by the time Mumbai played their first-round Ranji Trophy match.

Ajinkya Rahane and co. made a remarkable comeback in the game against Maharashtra, with Ayush Mhatre and Shreyas Iyer shining for Mumbai.
