Will Shivam Dube bowl in India vs Australia clash? India coach drops hint

India cricket team all-rounder Shivam Dube hasn't bowled much so far in T20 World Cup as the team has stuck with three spinners-pacers combo

India cricket team assistant coach Paras Mhambrey spilled the beans on the team’s plans to give Shivam Dube an over to bowl in the Super 8 game against Australia. The all-rounder hasn’t bowled much in the T20 World Cup yet and has stuck to just batting so far. When asked if the team plans to deploy Dube the bowler against the Aussies, Mhambrey said that it would depend on the conditions and that maybe he could bowl an over or so.

Shivam Dube to finally bowl against Australia?

The India assistant coach admitted that it was difficult to get Dube to bowl, considering the three seamers and spinners doing an excellent job so far. However, he added that Dube had been going at it in the nets in order to be prepared to roll his arm whenever the situation arises.

We always knew that Shivam (Dube) adds bowling, maybe one or two overs. It depends on the situation where and how we can use it. Maybe only six balls, maybe only over, but that will be very important over for us. So, preparation is going on. I think he’s in the right frame of mind. He’s working on his bowling, so good to see that. But if the situation does arise, I’m sure he’s prepared for it,” Paras Mhambrey said at a pre-match press conference.
