Will Rinku Singh be a part of T20 World Cup? Photo shoot at Dharamshala suggests so

Although Rinku has played only 15 T20I matches so far, that he was flown to Dharamshala to get his pictures clicked provide enough proof that he is firmly in the reckoning to be picked for the T20 World Cup.

The Indian cricket team, who is in Dharamshala at the moment preparing for the IND vs ENG 5th Test, had a rest day on Monday. However, it was not a full rest day for the players who are in contention to be picked for the T20 World Cup in June. The probable cricketers for the World Cup took part in a photoshoot at the Dharamshala stadium.

Some cricketers who are not a part of the Test team but are in contention to feature for the Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup were flown to Dharamshala to get their pictures clicked. Among the names, Rinku Singh was seen posing for pictures. Does that mean his name will be on the squad sheet come May?

Rinku Singh has been a revelation for the Indian side since making his debut in limited overs’ cricket. The southpaw debuted in the IND vs IRE T20I series on August of 2023. Since then he has been a regular starter for the Indian team in T20I matches.

Rinku’s calm head and his ability to finish matches under pressure makes him an ideal candidate for India’s lower order in T20s. India were in dire need of a good finisher after MS Dhoni’s retirement and it seems India finally have a player in their hands who can do the job. Although Rinku has played only 15 T20I matches so far, that he was flown to Dharamshala to get his pictures clicked provide enough proof that he is firmly in the reckoning to be picked for the T20 World Cup.
