Australia’s selectors have made key changes, most notably dropping struggling opener Nathan McSweeney and handing a maiden call-up to 19-year-old Sam Konstas. The shift reflects Australia’s desire for a fresh approach at the top of the order and a need for a strong performance in front of a home crowd at the MCG.
With pacer Josh Hazlewood injured, Pat Cummins said that he and fellow pace bowler Mitchell Starc will have to take on added duties in the IND vs AUS 4th Test match if pitches continue to be as seam-friendly as they have been in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane in the five-match Test series against India.
