Will Pakistan travel to India for the T20 World Cup 2026?

Since India is not traveling to Pakistan for CT 2025, and now if we go by reports, we can expect similar actions from Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026.

The Champions Trophy 2025 is seeing much more drama before the actual game begins, and it looks like some of the effects of this tournament are going to stay for a long time. Since the news broke that India is not traveling to Pakistan, many things have taken center stage. Several discussions have arisen, including how the PCB would react. As expected, the Pakistan Cricket Board took this matter seriously and initially stood by its decision that the Champions Trophy would not move anywhere from Pakistan. In the tussle between BCCI and PCB, it is the ICC that felt the heat.

However, it now seems that we are seeing some conclusions, which were necessary as only a few weeks are left.

For now, we have the provisional list of the schedule and groups. As mentioned, things are not fully sorted, but it has come to light that the ICC accepted the new proposals from BCCI and PCB, which indicated the hybrid model. However, there are a few conditions that PCB wanted to see fulfilled. Initially, there were four conditions, but now, the first one seems to be getting fulfilled soon, and it is about how both countries will play their ICC matches in the upcoming years.

Will Pakistan go to India for T20 World Cup 2026?

The reported agreement coming to light is that both parties, BCCI and PCB, have agreed that since India is not traveling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, Pakistan will do the same and not travel to India for the T20 World Cup 2026. Their matches will be played in Sri Lanka, which will also be the co-host. Also, Pakistan will host an ICC Women’s competition after 2027.

Where will India play their Champions Trophy matches?

Now, if we look at what will happen with India’s Champions Trophy matches, since it’s a hybrid model due to India’s reluctance to go to Pakistan for the CT 2025, reports are clear that India will play their matches at a neutral venue, with the UAE being a likely option. The rest of the tournament will be held in Pakistan. However, if India qualifies, the semi-final and final will be shifted to the neutral venue. If India does not qualify, the semi-final and final will be held in Rawalpindi and Lahore, respectively.
