Archer tried his luck and went to play for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023. However, the pacer did not have a great outing and injured himself in the process. Archer got injured after just five matches, picking up only two wickets while giving away 190 runs.
The injury ruled him out of the IPL and Ashes 2023, and his future regarding playing in the World Cup in India remains under question.

In his 5-year ODI career, Archer has managed to play just 21 matches. His record in these matches, however, is brilliant. The right-arm pacer has 42 wickets at 21.73 and an impressive bowling strike rate of 27.1 with a 6-wicket haul to his name.
Archer has played just three matches in 2023, picking up a six-wicket haul against South Africa on his return to ODI cricket. He then played two matches away from home in Bangladesh, picking up five wickets.
