Will Harshit Rana finally get his much awaited Team India debut in IND vs BAN 3rd T20I?

IND vs BAN 3rd T20I: With series done and dusted, why Harshit Rana deserves to get his India Cricket Team debut in Hyderabad?

The India Cricket Team took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing IND vs BAN T20I series. And now since the series is done and dusted, the most pertinent question arises – Will Harshit Rana get his debut? Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy got their international caps and now only the KKR pacer is left to get his chance to feature for Team India.

While Kolkata Knight Riders would dearly hope that the young speedster doesn’t get his debut. This is mainly owing to the new IPL retention rules. If Harshit Rana doesn’t get his debut, then KKR can retain the player for a mere sum of Rs. 4 crore as an uncapped player.

Why does Harshit Rana deserve his Debut?

Harshit Rana has been hogging the limelight after his heroics in IPL 2024. The young pacer proved detrimental in KKR lifting the IPL trophy last season beating SRH in the finals. Furthermore, the Delhi bowler has been consistently performing well in the domestic circuit as well.

His wonderful performances in the Duleep Trophy earned him his maiden call-up in the India squad for the T20I series against Bangladesh. While he patiently awaits on the bench waiting for his chance to impress Gautam Gambhir and the team.

For the first two games, Mayank Yadav and Nitish Kumar Reddy got their chance to shine and the duo executed their performances to perfection. And now with the series done and dusted, Harshit too deserves his chance to show his worth. Furthermore, should he perform well, he can get callups for the IND vs NZ Tests and even in the Border Gavaskar Trophy as a traveling reserve or net bowler.
