The Bangladesh cricket team are likely to be hindered by the lack of practice time in India for the two-match series. The Tigers will play two Tests against India, starting from September 19. Prior to the IND vs BAN series, Bangladesh will take on Pakistan in another two-Test series that will commence from August 21.
How Pakistan Tests can be a bane for BAN
Bangladesh will have very little time in hand to prepare for the series against India. Shanto and co. will take on Pakistan in the 2nd Test on August 30. Let’s assume the game is played for five days, then it leaves BAN roughly 16 days before they play against India.
The team will travel back to their home country before arriving in Chennai. This can be a disadvantage to the side, considering they would arrive less than two weeks before the 1st Test. Bangladesh are no strangers to the conditions in India but they will want to have some good practice before taking on a strong Men in Blue side.
Fatigue, lack of game awareness and injuries are some of the issues that Bangladesh could face in the series, apart from defeats, due to lack of preparation. Not to forget, Bangladesh have only managed to win one Test in the current WTC cycle.
