WI vs IND ODI Series: India Tour of West Indies – After thrashing England in the three-match ODI series, India will next be up against West Indies in a three-match ODI series starting on Sunday, July 22. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the side in absence of Rohit Sharma against West Indies. Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami have also been rested along with Rohit. WI vs IND ODI Series: Why WestIndies will be easy fodder for the Dhawan-led side?

In all the three ODI matches against Bangladesh, WestIndies could not even score one score above 200. No batter could cross 60 and their batting completely imploded. Their aggressive approach in batting has worked wonders in the T20 format, but it has not yielded favorable results in the 50-overs format.

WestIndies have won just 4 ODI matches out of the 16 played in the last two years. They were are yet to win an ODI match against a Test-playing since 2019. The Pooran-led side have faced defeats against India and Pakistan in a three-match ODI series. They were whitewashed by Pakistan and India in the six ODI games.

WestIndies’ only victory in 2022 has come against Netherlands 3-0. Barring that they have been dismal with their batting completely letting them done.

WI vs IND: Team India is in good form as they beat England 2-1 – Meanwhile, India are in good form in the ODI format. They beat a formidable-looking side England side 2-1. Even without Rohit Sharma, Kohli, and Bumrah, India have quality backup players like Ruturaj, Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Avesh Khan, and Arshdeep Singh. All these young players have stepped up whenever the senior players were not playing.

Kishan was the top run-scorer during the five-match T20 series as he scored above 200 runs. Hooda impressed everyone in the T20 series against Ireland as he slammed a century walking at number three. He has scored 206 runs in just 4 T20I innings. Arshdeep in his debut T20I match against England picked up two wickets. Avesh has delivered the goods in his short international career. Considering all these factors, India start as favorite against WestIndies in the ODI series.
