IND vs WI 1st ODI: After losing the 2-match Test series 0-1, West Indies will now gear up for a three-match ODI series against Team India, starting from July 27. Windies Cricket (CWI) on Tuesday announced the ODI squad for the 50-over series.
West Indies have been put to bat in the IND vs WI 1st ODI. Shimron Hetmyer has returned to XI after a long gap.

Shimron Hetmyer, who last played for West Indies in August 2022, returns to the national squad. Meanwhile pacer Jayden Seales, leg-spinner Yannic Cariah, have been included following their recovery from injuries.
“We welcome Oshane and Shimron back into the group. Both have played at the international level before, with some success, and we believe they will fit well into the set-up,” lead selector Desmond Haynes said.
After embarassing exit from the ODI World Cup Qualifiers, the hosts will be keen to start afresh and rebuild.
No Holder, Pooran for IND vs WI ODIs
The CWI in the press release confirmed that both Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder made themselves unavailable for selection for the IND vs WI series.

Jason Holder, who featured in the two Tests against India, will not play the ODIs. Pooran, on the other hand, is in the US for Major League Cricket.
All ‘hopes’ on Shai Hope
Shai Hope has had a decent outing in the World Cup Qualifiers, despite team’s poor results. The Windies skipper will have a big role to play with the bat in the absence of Pooran.
