Why PAK vs BAN second test match will be played without fans?

No fans for the Pakistan vs Bangladesh Test match But why? Here is the reason there will be no cheering at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The second Test match between two friendly neighbors is set to take place, with Bangladesh facing the mighty Pakistan starting from August 30 in Karachi. Pakistan, currently in 5th position in the World Test Championship table, will look to improve their chances of reaching the finals, while Bangladesh aims to maintain their Test cricket reputation. However, there is some troubling news for cricket spectators: the match at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi will be played without fans. But why?

Reason why there will be no fans at PAK vs BAN second Test match

It has come to light that the upcoming match between these two teams, which will be held at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi, is currently under construction. Due to this, there will be no fans allowed in the stadium. The PCB is renovating the stadium as it will be used for the scheduled Champions Trophy next year in February.

Champions Trophy

The Pakistan Cricket Board has also suspended ticket sales for this particular Test match with immediate effect, and fans who have already purchased tickets will receive a refund. According to a statement from the board, “After careful consideration of all available options, we have decided that the safest course of action is to hold the second Test in front of an empty stadium.” While this decision may be a setback for true cricket fans, it is aimed at maintaining their safety, which is the PCB’s utmost priority.

With discussions about the Champions Trophy ongoing and the PCB having already proposed dates and venues for the tournament, it will be interesting to see how the board navigates potential restrictions that might affect the full hosting rights for this major event.
