Joe Root’s last ODI match was in November. Since the ODI World Cup 2023, he has not played a single one-day international game. In England’s latest squad for the Australia series, Joe Root’s name was missing, with the reason given that he has been rested. Root has always prioritized the Test format, focusing all his efforts on Test cricket. As a result, he will also missed out on the West Indies tour to play Test series against Pakistan and New Zealand.
