Time for the 18th match of IPL 2025, which is between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans. The game is happening at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
It was Gujarat Titans who elected to bowl first. Washington Sundar is all set and looking to do well, but the news is coming from the other camp, and it’s about a big name missing from the Sunrisers Hyderabad playing XI.
When Pat Cummins announced the team, one name was surprisingly missing, Harshal Patel.
But why isn’t he playing today? Take a look at the reason.
Why is Harshal Patel not playing today’s match
Well, when it comes to Harshal Patel, he has been a key bowler for SRH this season. However, since he is currently unwell, he is not part of SRH’s playing XI today, as the team was forced to make a change.
Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Harshal Patel for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. He had set his base price at INR 2 crore, and after a bidding war with Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings, SRH secured his services.
Also, not to forget, he was the highest wicket-taker last season and performed well for PBKS. This time, he will look to do the same for SRH.
