Multan Sultans’ power hitter Usman Khan on Sunday scripted history in the Pakistan Super League when he slammed his second successive ton against Islamabad United. Usman became the only player from ICC’s associate nations to score a century in the T20 franchise leagues of the world.
Thanks to his powerful hitting in the final 10 overs, Usman, who is playing as a foreign batter, amassed yet another century and led his team to a massive 228 runs. The right-hander finished his innings at an incredible 200 strike rate, scoring 100 off 50 balls with an incredible 15 fours and three sixes.
Who is Usman Khan
Usman Khan was born in Pakistan’s Karachi in 1995. Due to the lack of cricketing opportunities in Pakistan, he moved to Ajman in the United Arab Emirates where he worked in the purchasing department of a gas distribution company. Usman made his PSL debut in 2021.
Records galore
He made history as the only player in the PSL to score two tons in a single edition. On March 3, he had scored a century against the Karachi Kings at the National Bank Stadium.
Along with former Peshawar Zalmi star Kamran Akmal, who scored as many hundreds in 74 innings, the Karachi native now has three centuries in just 14 PSL innings overall.
