Right-arm seamer Kashvee Gautam on Saturday drew much attention in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction. At 20-years-old, she became the most expensive uncapped player with the Gujarat Titans signing the youngster for a whopping INR 2 crore. But who is the young player?
Kashvee Gautam is a right-arm pacer with an ability to hit big shots with the bat. Kashvee etched her name in the history books by taking ten wickets, including a hat-trick, in a domestic match between Chandigarh and Arunachal Pradesh in a women’s district Under-19 competition.

Kashvee dealt with heartbreak in the WPL 2023 auction when she went unsold. However, she kept her good performance on the field to force the franchise to think about her. She took 12 wickets in 7 matches at an economy rate of 4.14 in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy. She was part of India’s victorious Under-23 team in the ACC Emerging tournament held in Hong Kong in June.
The youngster was recently picked to lead the women’s U-23 side in the T20I tournament on December 10 in Mumbai.
When Kashvee’s name came up in the auction, a bidding war ensued between Gujarat Giants Royal Challengers Bangalore. After RCB backed out at the region of Rs 70 lakh, UP Warriorz joined the bidding war and looked determined to rope in the pacer.
However, it was Gujarat Giants who had the last laugh as UP Warriorz dropped out after Gujarat Giants put in a bid of Rs 2 crore. Kashvee became the most expensive player of WPL 2024 auction so far, along with Annabel Sutherland of Australia.
