Well, you surely remember the movie 3 Idiots, where Boman Irani’s character was ambidextrous and could write with both hands. Now, in IPL 2025, we are witnessing something similar—not in writing, but in bowling! That’s right, Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis, known for his calm and composed batting, has already made a name for himself in Sri Lanka’s batting lineup.
Now, this 26-year-old, currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, is showcasing his incredible ambidextrous bowling skills vs KKR. He isn’t just bowling with his left hand but also with his right! During the match against IPL 2024 champions, he first bowled left-arm spin to Angkrish Raghuvanshi, deceiving him, and then, when Venkatesh Iyer came to the crease, he switched to right-arm spin.
We are witnessing something truly unique in the IPL, but this isn’t the first time Mendis has displayed this rare skill. During India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2024, he bowled off-spin to Rishabh Pant and left-arm spin to Suryakumar Yadav, further proving his versatility.
