Who is Faraz Akram?

Faraz Akram, born in Saudi Arabia to a family of Pakistani diplomats, moved to Zimbabwe in 2000 when his father was assigned to the Pakistani embassy there.

In November 2020, Akram made his debut for Zimbabwe. He was selected for Zimbabwe’s tour of Pakistan in October 2020. Akram played his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match for Zimbabwe against Pakistan on November 10, 2020.

Faraz Akram’s family background

Faraz Akram, born on October 3, 1993, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents, spent his early years in the Middle East and Pakistan. In 2000, his family moved to Zimbabwe when his father took a diplomatic post at the Pakistani embassy. Akram attended Westridge High School in Harare. He became second player of Pakistani origin, after Sikander Raza, to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket.
